Australian Logistics firm Bluefreight Expands into Indonesia
MELBOURNE-BASED Bluefreight Pty Ltd, a Global Expeditors Network (Gen)
member, has just expanded into Indonesia by taking a substantial share
of its logistics partner, PT Indonesia Intercontinental Tradelink (Icontrade),
says a news release.
A spokesman for Bluefreight said: "This expansion is in line with
Bluefreight's overall freight strategy of strengthening their trade
lanes in order to provide the best results for their customers, whether
they be in Australia, Indonesia or anywhere else in the world."
Icontrade is in the process of re-branding as Bluefreight Indonesia.
Icontrade, also a Gen member, has traditionally been strong with
shipping wood product exports from Indonesia. Bluefreight in Australia
hopes to capitalise on this strength and make a major push into the
Australian furniture logistics market, which they already have their own
strength in.
"Indonesia has had lots to struggle with in the past few years," said
Richard Dexter, a Melbourne-based director of Bluefreight, "but we can
only see that the future of trade between Australia and Indonesia will
be bright. That's why this move seemed like a good one to us."
